22-yr-old transgender woman Barbie Kardashian, who was accused of threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a fellow inmate and a prison officer at Limerick Prison, has been found not guilty on all charges in court this afternoon.
Kardashian had denied the three charges and told gardaà that she never intended to carry out the threats or rape or assault.
Since Monday, a jury of seven women and five men have heard evidence against Ms Kardashian, who is an inmate in an all-female prison in Limerick Prison.
Fellow prisoner, a woman, Tegan McGhee, said that Kardashian had threatened to rape her on a date in February last year after a row over complaints about the accused had left body hair all over the showers in what has been described as truly disgusting.
Prison officer RóisÃn Linnane gave evidence that she was petrified after threats of sexual violence against her by Ms Kardashian on two dates in June last year.
Today in court, Kardashian was found not guilty of all charges.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee was slammed for allowing the trans woman into an all-women’s prison in the first place.
