Two American tourists have lost their lives today in a shocking accident that occurred near the Gap of Dunloe, near Killarney Co. Kerry.
It’s understood that the man and woman aged in their late 50s were thrown from a pony and trap and fell into a cliff area.
The accident happened shortly after 2pm between Kate Kearney’s Cottage and the Gap of Dunloe.
It’s not yet known the condition of the driver of the pony and trap but the tourists were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A forensic road crash investigation is due to take place this evening.
