Two members of the same family have sadly died in a road crash involving a car and lorry in Co Mayo.
A woman aged in her 40s was driving the car, and a young girl who was a passenger in the car both were sadly killed after their car collided with a lorry on the N26 at Callow between Foxford and Swinford.
The crash happened just before 6pm. It’s understood both people are from County Mayo.
The driver of the lorry has been taken to hospital with injuries that are understood to be non-life threatening.
A forensic examination is being carried out overnight while gardai appeal for witnesses to come forward with dashcam footage.
Diversions remain in place until further notice.
