
Two young men have tragically died in a multi-vehicle collision in County Tipperary.
The incident, involving four vehicles, occurred on a local road at Killeen, Ballinunty—approximately 15km from Thurles—shortly before 6pm.
The victims, one in his early 20s and the other in his late teens, were passengers in one of the cars and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two women, both in their 20s and travelling in a separate vehicle, were transported by ambulance to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel. Their injuries are understood to be non-life-threatening.
A further six people were assessed by medical personnel at the scene but did not require hospitalisation.
The road is currently closed for a forensic examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in operation.
The local coroner has been notified, and post-mortem examinations will be scheduled. A family liaison officer has been appointed to support the bereaved.
Gardaà are urging witnesses to the collision to contact them.
They are particularly interested in speaking to any motorists who may have dash-cam or other footage from the area at the time of the incident.
