Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged with aggravated murder in the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10. The Utah County Attorney’s Office also filed charges of felony firearm discharge and obstruction of justice, with plans to seek the death penalty.
Robinson, a student from St. George, was arrested after a 33-hour manhunt. Evidence includes a rifle with his DNA and incriminating messages. Authorities say Robinson, who recently expressed leftist views, acted alone in the assassination. He’s held without bail and will appear in court today.
The FBI is investigating, and federal charges may follow. The case has sparked political debate, but officials urge against speculation. Updates to follow.
