Arguably one of the most notorious Presidential candidates who didn’t win the Presidency, Ross Perot has died at the age of 89.
The billionaire ran for the Office of President twice in both 1992 and 1996.
His first run in 1992 is mainly the reason why President George H Bush lost the election to Bill Clinton as Perot split the conservative vote leaving Clinton to get in through the back door with Perot picking up 19% of the vote.
“Ross Perot, the ground-breaking businessman and loving husband, brother, father and grandfather, passed away early Tuesday at his home in Dallas, surrounded by his devoted family,” the Perot family said in a statement.
