A young Russian soldier accused of murdering a civilian in Ukraine has been handed a life sentence.
The soldier, named as 21-year-old Vadim Shishimarin, had pleaded guilty to the charge.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin had said that it was ‘concerned’ about the soldier, but couldn’t or wouldn’t do anything about it, essentially abandoning him to his fate.
Elsewhere, Ukraine’s military has now stopped Russia’s advance in the east.
