British Airways flights back on the air after day of chaos

British Airways’ flight schedule is resuming today, after a computer malfunction caused widespread chaos across Europe and elsewhere yesterday.

The airline was forced to cancel all its flights departing Heathrow and Gatwick on Saturday, due to an IT failure that shut down pretty much the entire network.

The timing of the disruption was particularly unfortunate, as this is a Bank Holiday in the UK, and thousands of families were on the move.

This is the third systems glitch for British Airways in recent times. The airline experienced severe delays and some cancellations to its flights in July and September last year due to similar issues.
