British authorities are urging commuters to be vigilant, after three letter bombs were sent to key transportation hubs in London

British police are urging London commuters to remain on alert, after three letter bombs were sent to three transport hubs across the British capital yesterday.

Police were called to locations at Heathrow Airport, Waterloo Station, and London City Airport after the discovery of three suspicious packages which turned out to be letter bombs.

It was later determined that the packages had originated in Ireland.

Gardai are liaising with British intelligence teams on the matter, as New IRA activity is thought to be involved.
