Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has announced a cut to the ‘interim’ USC, which means that workers will be ‘better off’ by €350 a year in 2017, according to him.

In real terms, however, this amount will be offset by increases to the Property Tax, motor insurance, and health insurance, so workers will gain nothing.
