The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has confirmed that the plans for a Covid-19 pandemic bonus for frontline staff will not be announced today.
Speaking ahead of the Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe’s announcement, Martin said the plans for pandemic bonus and a public holiday won’t be part of the Budget.
The Taoiseach said today’s Budget will primarily focus on costs for people in different areas.
Martin went on to say that the Budget will focus on aspects such as health, fuel, and welfare.
He added that it will also look at improving childcare over the next number of years.
