Social Welfare recipients will recieve a €5 weekly increase under plans which will be revealed later today in the upcoming Budget.
It is understood that the increase will apply to almost all social welfare recipients, whilst pensioners will also receive a bonus of €5.
Meanwhile those who are receiving social welfare, the PUP and pension will also get the Christmas bonus this year.
It is expected that recipients will receive double paymet as a bonus this year.
The news comes as the Cabinet agreed a financial package worth an estimated €315m to cover the bonus.
