Busy week ahead as pharmacies get ready to administer Covid-19 vaccines

Ireland’s Covid-19 vaccine programme is set to take another significant step as pharmacies across the country are getting ready to administer vaccines to younger people across the country.

In a move to speed up Ireland’s vaccinaton programme, pharmacists across the country will be able to distribute the Johnson and Johnson vaccine to people aged 18 to 34 from today.

It is expected that a total of 120,000 doses will be distributed this week following a surge in demand from those in the younger cohorts in the past week.

However pharmacies are warning that there won’t be enough doses for everyone and anyone wishing to avail of a vaccine must registered via the portal which opened last Friday.
