There is good news for mobile phone users today as the much hated and highly controversial roaming charges system will be abolished once and for all.
The move which will be welcomed by residents all over the EU comes after the EU commission agreed to proposals that will see all mobile phone operators across its members states being forced into capping all charges for calls, texts and data usage.
Although the new laws were passed in April they will be enforced from today Thursday 15th June onwards, the change now means all users will be charged the same rates for calls, texts and data usage as they do at home.
However whilst the move is good news for people here and all across Europe, those in the UK could yet receive hefty roaming charges as a result of Brexit
