The South East Patient Advocacy Group is calling on people to gather in numbers and march to show support for a second cardiac unit at Waterford Hospital.
The issue of an additional unit to deal with patients with heart conditions has been the bugbear of Independent TD John Halligan, who said the Government promised to deliver such facility in exchange for his support. However, a report produced by a Belfast-based cardiologist led the Government to renege on the promise.
A march in support of the new unit for the hospital will take place today at 2pm.
