Calls for public to have “personal responsibility” after weekend sees rubbish strewn around Irish cities

There have been calls from gardai, county councils and shop owners for people to have so-called “personal responsibility” for their own rubbish after scenes of rubbish strewn around cities up and down the country over the weekend.

The beautiful sunshine saw thousands of people hit the streets, albeit to the anger of Tony Holohan, but nevertheless they were enjoying the “outdoor summer” that the government ironically advised.

Shop owners were particularly annoyed with rubbish and urine all over their shopfronts on Monday morning following the outdoor party atmosphere.

People say that there’s not enough bins, not enough toilets and definitely not enough room thanks to the Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar, Stephen Donnelly and Tony Holohan all agreeing to not allow pubs and restaurants reopen sooner than they’re allowed to.

It’s understood that county councils are now considering installing more bins in popular areas.
