Cervical Check campaigner Vicky Phelan has given an update on Instagram, letting her supporters know that she intends to have radiation over the next few weeks to try and deal with a tumour that is painfully growing on her spine.
According to the Irish Mirror, Vicky, who was awarded the Freedom of Limerick earlier this week, spoke about how she is disappointed that the course of treatment will means she will miss out on celebrating the birthdays of her husband and son, but she also said that she will plan something with them after the treatment, saying:-
“I feel it will be worth the short term pain of being sick for 2 – 3 weeks for the long term gain of being in relatively little pain AND being more mobile afterwards. We might book a few days away when I am feeling better to celebrate properly.”
