Cardiff City has been ordered to pay the first installment of the late Emiliano Sala transfer fee.
The installment, which amounts to €6m, is part of the overall €15m transfer fee agreed prior to the footballer’s untimely death in a plane crash in January of this year.
Cardiff City and Sala’s original team, Nantes, had been locked in a legal dispute over the fee. Cardiff had argued that Sala ‘was not officially their player’ at the time of his death, stating that the agreed fee was void.
