Caretaker Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to ask EU leaders today should be stop flights coming in from Italy

The Taoiseach will be speaking to EU leaders in an EU meeting by teleconference toady and will be bringing up the issue of airport closures and flights closures.

The Tanaiste Simon Coveney said on Claire Byrne Live:
“we may have to close off flights from specific countries, specifically from Italy.”

He said that there’s over 100 countries that have this virus now but that Italy is the worst affected in Europe as of today.

He said that although Italy is the worst at the moment, next week it could be Germany, France or Britain. He questioned “should we close off flights from everywhere?”
