A man has reportedly lost his life earlier today after the vehicle he was driving entered a flooded area in the town of Pollagh, Co. Offaly.
It has been a tragic week of carnage on Irish roads, with five people killed in the last 36 hours alone, and 11 in total in the last week.
It is understood that his car was the only vehicle involved in the accident.
