A Croatian big game hunter has paid the ultimate price after he was shot by a stray bullet whilst he was on a hunting trip in South Africa.
The man who was believed to be an avid hunting enthusiast was apparently killed when he was attempting to kill a lion in the North West province of South Africa.
According to local media reports the man named Pero Jelenic, 75, was accidentally killed after he was struck by stray bullet just as he was aiming to kill a lion.
It is believed Mr Jelenic was hunting with a friend in the region when the shooting occurred, although police say an culpable homicide investigation is currently ongoing, they have said they believe there was no foul play in the death of Mr Jelenic .
The unlucky poacher who is said to have a large collection, apparently decided to travel to the region to purposely kill a lion in order to add its remains to his trophy collection.
