Relatives of Alan Hawe have described him as a “brilliant dad” and have “no idea” why on earth he did what he did to his family and himself.
The have insisted that all family members be laid to rest together.
The tragedy occurred when school vice-principal Alan Hawe killed his wife Clodagh and their three boys, 13-yr-old Liam, 11-yr-old Niall and 6-yr-old Ryan at the family home in Barconey, 6km outside Ballyjamesduff, before taking his own life on Monday morning.
The family have emphasized they are not chastising Alan for what he did, they don’t understand it but they are not going chastise him for it, indirectly urging the public to act in a similar fashion.
