US music star Cee Lo Green has reportedly deleted his Twitter account after allegedly tweeting some controversial comments on rape.
It is understood that the 39-year-old singer posted several comments about the subject on his social networking account today before deleting the posts and his account. The comments come days after he pleaded no contest to furnishing ecstasy to a 33-year-old woman.
In response to other Twitter users, the ‘forget you’ star wrote: “If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”
Green then deleted his account not before he wrote an apology, stating: “Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom! Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context. “I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it..
“…was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.”
Green’s comments came after he appeared at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office on Friday and pleaded no contest to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy to a female, after she accused him of slipping her the drug without her knowledge in July 2012.
