Charity gets go-ahead to build Ireland’s first supervised drug injection centre in Dublin

A leading charity has been given the go-ahead to build Ireland’s first supervised drug injection centre in the capital.

Merchants Quay Ireland (MQI) had originally been refused permission by Dublin City Council, but the Council’s decision was overturned on appeal.

The facility, which will be built at the Riverbank Centre on Merchant’s Quay, Dublin, is expected to cater for up to 100 people a day.
