Gardaí have revealed that over 650 people have been arrested during their road safety campaign.
In new figures published today, Gardai say the vast majority of those were arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Gardaí have issued a reminder to people to drive safely over the Christmas period and say checkpoints will be increased over the coming days.
The figures have risen significantly since the campaign began on November 29th.
