Charles Lazarus, founder of Toys’R’Us, dies aged 94, weeks after his life’s work entered bankruptcy





Charles Lazarus, founder of Toys’R’Us, has died at the age of 94, mere weeks after the toy giant shut its doors for good.

Lazarus opened the first Toys’R’Us store in 1957, and he remained as CEO until 1994.

The entire chain closed down in recent days, leaving thousands of people without jobs.

It is understood that Lazarus died of natural causes.
