Time to check the attic! A Chinese vase with a guide price of €800-€1,200 has sold at auction in Co Laois for €740,000, as reported by RTE who traveled down to the auction house.
The Qing Period Blue and White Double Gourd Vase was offered for sale by a Dublin seller at Sheppard’s in Durrow earlier this morning.
It was estimated to fetch between €800 and €1,200 but it far far exceeded this.
Over 40 bidders battled it out to see the end result amounting to a whopping €740,000 from a Chinese bidder based in Paris.
