In clear example of female privilege before the law, a woman in the US has been found not guilty of murder and has walked free from court despite the fact the presiding judge said her actions led to the death of her new-born daughter.

Brooke Skylar Richardson, from Ohio, US, was 18 years old when she secretly gave birth to a baby girl, the child died at and Richardson buried the infant girl, whom she later named Annabelle in her backyard on the same day, May 7 th , 2017

Sometime later Richardson told her doctor she gave birth to a stillborn baby and the physician informed authorities.

The baby’s body was discovered, and Richardson was charged with aggravated murder, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment and the gross abuse of a corpse.

After an investigation, prosecutors concluded that Richardson has smashed her baby daughter’s skull with a rock to kill her and they even discovered searches she had made on the internet for “how to get rid of a baby”.

In the end however, Richardson was only found guilty of gross abuse of a corpse and sentenced to three years’ probation.

Richardson made an apology in court to the father of the child and his mother read a statement on his behalf detailing the devastating impact Richardson’s actions had on her son and her family.

The presiding Judge in the case, Donald Oda, condemned Richardson for her actions saying:
“I believe if you had made different decisions, Annabelle would still be here,”

And going on to say:
“I think that your choices before birth, during birth and after birth show a grotesque disregard for life.”
