Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan thanks young people as incidence rate drops




The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has thanked young people across the country as the incidence rate has dropped amongst 19 to 24 year olds.

Speaking this evening Dr Holohan said young people have to be commended for their efforts over the past number of weeks as they have halved their contacts.

Dr Holohan who said the challenge to maintain current levels across the country for the next four weeks will be difficult.

He said the incidence rate amongst 19 to 24’s dropped from 450 per 100,000 to 150 per 100,000 in two weeks.

They must be thanked for their efforts and I thank them for their efforts.
