
The Chief Medical officer Dr Tony Holohan is expected to brief Government Ministers in the Dáil later today.
In a meeting which is expected to get underway at lunchtime, Dr Holohan is expected to give ministers the latest on the Covid-19 outbreak.
Amongst the topics to be discussed Dr Holohan will provide data and analysis of the current situation, he is also expected to outline how the current road map will progress.
It is also believed that Dr Holohan will answer questions in regards to social distancing measures and in particular the 2m rule which has been the subject of debate in recent days.
Although no changes to the current guidelines are expected to be made, it is believed that Dr Holohan will provide clarity on whether not social distancing can be reduced to 1m in the future.
