Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan warns that people shouldn’t come for Christmas amid re-introduction fears

The Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan has said people should avoid returning home this Christmas and for the foreseeable future.

Speaking on Thursday, Holohan said the public should avoid non essential travel and therefore people who would normally return home at Christmas time should avoid doing so.

Holohan who echoed the comments of the Tanaiste Leo Varadkar, said NPHET are particularly concerned with the re-introduction of the virus if people were to return home.

Although he admitted it would be difficult for people, Holohan said that NPHET have deemed such travel as non essential for this Christmas.
