Police in the North have confirmed that a prisoner who has been at large for than a week has been re-captured.
In an announcement this evening the Prison service of Northern Ireland confirmed that convicted child killer John Clifford has been re-captured.
Clifford, 56, fled custody whilst he was attending a hospital appointment on Sunday September 2nd.
Police say he was arrested in Newry this evening.
They say they would like to thank the Gardaí for their assistance in the matter.
