Cold and snowy week ahead

wintry

We didn’t quite have a White Christmas, but the white stuff has been falling on Ireland for the last 24 hours or so.

There have been some heavy snowfalls around Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, and Wexford, and the forecast is for cold weather and further snowfalls this week.

Sunday night will be bitterly cold, with widespread severe frost and ice formation. Temperatures will plunge to -3C in parts.

There will be wintry showers tomorrow, and frost and ice will once again develop towards the evening.

A similar pattern will be predominant on Tuesday, and the general outlook is for cold weather to last for the entire week.
