Confessions of a Catholic Teenager: Pope Francis goes out in public once again to hear the confessions of teenagers in St Peter’s Square

Pope Francis has once again showed that he is willing to get involved with the public as he happily sat down with 16 teenagers who were visiting the Vatican to hear their confessions.

The pope reportedly made a surprise appearance late on Saturday morning in St Peter’s Square, where thousands of Catholic teenagers descended to celebrate Holy Year youth day. It is understood the pontiff and the teenagers sat face-to-face whilst confessions took place in the square.

The Pope then shook with hands all 16 teenagers. It is thought the pope spent more than an hour in the square. The kind gesture came as he dedicated the Holy Year to two central themes of his papacy, mercy and reconciliation.
