It has emerged today that Console’s founder, Paul Kelly, his wife, and son managed to rack up credit card bills of up to €500,000.
The monies are alleged to have provided for a lavish lifestyle full of designer clothes, foreign trips, rugby matches, and many other niceties.
The three of them held 11 out of 20 credit cards linked with the charity. During 2012 and 2014 alone, almost €90,000 in cash was withdrawn from these accounts, €66,000 by Mr. Kelly himself. No documentation has been furnished as to how this money was used.
Mr. Kelly resigned from his post as CEO of the charity after the scandal was first uncovered.
