Controversial Critical Race Theory and “White supremacy” taught at Irish primary school teachers conference funded by Coveney’s Dept. of Foreign Affair

The Development and Inter-Cultural Education Project (DICE Project) group ran a conference in Mary Immaculate College where attendees listened to talks on Global Citizenship Education, Critical Global Learning, the controversial topic of “Critical Race Theory”, Traveller education and Diversifying Primary school teaching in Ireland. The conference was sponsored by the Department of Foreign affairs via their IrishAid spin off.

The DICE Project is a group of academics seeking to influence teacher training institutions in Ireland around the topic of multi-culturalism and globalism. The teacher training colleges involved in the DICE Project include The Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, Maynooth
University, Marino Institute and Dublin City University.

The DICE Conference twitter account posted a number of tweets on Diversifying Primary school teaching in Ireland. One of the conference days was dedicated to intercultural benefits of having “minoritised teachers.

The highly controversial theory of Critical Race Theory (CRT) was also discussed. CRT is an imported ideology from America, where it is viewed as dividing white and black communities. “White supremacy” was part of the CRT presentation given by Dr. Ebun Joseph and a documentary called “Unsilencing Black Voices” also got special mention.

Critical Race theory is highly controversial in America, especially the teaching of this theory in schools. An recent article on PJ Media about CRT in schools said “Parents everywhere are waking up to the wokeness, and insisting that teachers teach the three Rs, rather than the poison of CRT.”

A bi-racial parent was quoted on PJMedia saying “CRT teaches children to “look at your black neighbour and say they’re oppressed and you look at your white neighbor and say they’re evil — regardless of the experience you’ve had with them.”

This video outlines what Americans think of Critical Race Theory being taught in schools.
