Coordinated drone strike damages key oil production facilities in Saudi Arabia, potentially disrupting global trade

A coordinated drone strike has caused significant damage to oil production facilities in Saudi Arabia.

The attack, carried out by no fewer than ten drones, greatly disrupted the country’s daily output by almost half, which represents about 5% of global oil supply. Early estimations put the disruption at about 5.7m barrels.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for the action, but the US were quick to blame Iran instead.
