Coronavirus: Calls for Leo Varadkar to follow Boris Johnson and impost a lockdown in Ireland

There have been calls for caretaker Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to follow British Prime Minsiter Boris Johnson’s latest steps to help fight the threat of covid-19 and implement a similar lockdown across Ireland.

Some 1,125 confirmed cases are in the Republic of Ireland as of Tuesday morning with many more cases to come in the coming days and weeks.

Social media users have been saying that Leo Varadkar should implement the exact same instructions that people “must stay at home” and to lockdown all shops except for supermarkets and pharmacies and to not have groups of more than two people. They also want people to work from home and not meet friends and tell them that you can’t meet up.
