The number of people who have died from Covid-19-related causes in UK hospitals has surged past 10,000 today.
This figure only reflects patients whose passing occurred at a hospital, and whose official cause of death specifically mentioned ‘coronavirus’ or ‘Covid-19’.
Because this tally does not include people who died in care homes, inside their own homes, or elsewhere, the true figure of Covid-19 deaths in the UK is feared to be much higher.
