Coronavirus: HSE say anyone with symptoms is to self-isolate to protect themselves and the public




As fears grow that there could be a worldwide widespread outbreak of the coronavirus, and with the first confirmed in the Republic of Ireland, the HSE has moved to reassure the Irish public not to panic that they’re fully loaded with supplies and are ready to go should such an outbreak occur in Ireland.

The HSE say that they’ve adequate stocks in terms of critical supplies all across the country by undertaking early actions.

The HSE say it’s vital that people wash their hands at least 10 times a day and that if they have any symptoms at all that they have to self-isolate to protect themselves and the public.

A total of 700,000 gowns, 4 million gloves, 1.7 million masks, 1.5 million surgical masks and 400,000 gloves and face shield protection products have been bought.

It’s also understood that some 12 new ventilation systems have been purchased for acute hospitals.
