Coronavirus: Irish gov watches Denmark closely as some of their schools are reopening this week after being closed for four weeks

The Irish government has said that it’s going to look around Europe and the likes of Denmark and Austria to see how they do when they start to unwind their lockdown measures before we start to do the same here.

Some Danish schools will begin reopening this week, after a four-week-long closure, while others will remain closed until April 20.

Social distancing measures will still be enforced past this date, however, meaning a 2-metre distance between desks must be respected.

The decision to reopen schools has been met with criticism among Danish parents, however, as many feel it’s a premature move.

Denmark has so far reported 6,691 cases of Covid-19, and 299 deaths.
