769 new cases were diagnosed on Sunday alone, bringing the total number of infections to 2,744 worldwide.
There are confirmed cases in Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, United States, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, France, Canada, and Australia.
Little is yet known about the virus itself, but scientists now know that it can be transmitted from human to human, even during the disease’s incubation period.
