Japan has reported the ninth coronavirus-related death, as the island of Hokkaido declares a state of emergency.
What follows next is that the Japanese government have issued all schools to close from Monday until at least April – leaving parents to take time of work to mind their children with economists saying it could lead to a possible recession as a result.
It’s now understood that residents have been warned to stay indoors over the coming days amidst a deepening crisis.
Hokkaido has so far declared 63 cases so far.
