Coronavirus outbreak: Student at Waterford college put in isolation after returning from China in recent days

A student at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) has been put in isolation after returning from China in recent days, according to the Irish Mirror.

It is understood that the student had left Wuhan, ground zero for the outbreak, on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the HSE has highlighted that the isolation is a ‘precautionary’ measure, and that the person in question has not shown signs of disease.

As many as 80 people have died during the current outbreak, as fears about a global pandemic grow by the hour.
