Coronavirus: People wanting to be tested for Covid-19 need to display at least two major symptoms, according to new rules




New rules for Covid-19 testing now specify that people must display at least two major symptoms before they are given the test.

Patients presenting with a fever and either a cough or shortness of breath AND are categorized as a ‘priority group’ will be able to access the test. ‘Priority group’ is defined as people who have been in close contact with a confirmed case, healthcare staff, and vulnerable groups such as the elderly.

There are now 1,329 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland.
