Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that an economic recession ‘is on the way’, adding that tax cuts ‘should help’ to avoid the worst consequences.
Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their jobs in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, with many fearing that those jobs are gone for good.
The Irish economy has all but collapsed amidst a worsening outbreak in the country, in which almost 3,900 people have tested positive and 98 have died so far.
