Gardai say that in response to the coronavirus, there’ll be more patrols across the country.
Garda Commissioner Drew Harris will today announce a special police plan to help deal with the crisis.
Additional Gardai will be used to support businesses and the public, and Gardai apprentices from Garda College Templemore will be used for high visibility surveillance.
The garda college will also be made available as a medical center if a large number of people need treatment for coronaviruses.
Gardai are said to be finalising their policing plans in response to Covid-19.
