The UK has reported 638 new Covid-19-related deaths in hospitals over the last 24h.
The total death toll there now stands at 18,738. This figure does not include people who may have died from Covid-19 outside hospital settings.
British health authorities have said that the UK might face ‘multiple’ lockdowns with little or no notice until an effective vaccine is found.
