There was some bad news for motorists today as the AA Ireland have revealed that a recent increase in oil prices is likely to cost us more at the fuel pumps.
Although the average price of petrol fell by one cent a litre last month, it’s is about to go back up after the price of a barrel of oil significantly increased on the stock markets recently. According to the AA the price of diesel rose by almost 1c in February, after January saw the country experience it’s lowest prices for both petrol and diesel in recent years, with some petrol stations offering diesel from as little as 99c a litre.
The cheaper fuel resulted from cheap oil prices internationally but now it seems the oil wells are draining up again which in turn will hit the consumers pockets, the AA have said.
