Independent Councillor Alan Lawes from Navan has stated that drug dealers are now openly offering free samples of heroin to children in Johnstown in an attempt to get them addicted and expand their clientele.
Mr Lawes made the shocking revelations on his Facebook account in a warning to the public and described how the ‘scumbags’ were offering heroin to children outside the local shopping centre in the area near the local school.
The Independent Councillor appealed to the public to make sure that they report any suspicious activity to the Gardai on their Confidential phone number 1800666111.
In a defiant message the councillor stated
“We cant as allow this small group of scum bags to take over and ruin a very good community. I will be organising a public meeting in the very near future in order to address the situation.”
